At Eagle Security we are passionate about Life saving skills.
Until the year 2007 Jack Golds the MD was an active outdoor person. He was a trained first aider and a first aid instructor.
His rescue skills had been put to good use on more than one occasion.
Then at the age of 57, one Sunday morning while he was reading the papers, without any warning signs he suffered a massive heart attack.
Within minutes of the first symptoms he suffered cardiac arrest.
Luckily help was at hand and a defibrillator was quickly used to good affect.
Without this speedy intervention it is unlikely he would have survived.
The recovery from this episode was not instant. For a few years he was very poorly, but he has now recovered full health.
Not only is he now firmly back in control of Eagle Security he has set up another business called BioKi Limited dedicated to a natural healthy lifestyle.
A patient's chance of survival from cardiac arrest is decreased by approximately 10% with each minute that passes. It is therefore crucial that defibrillation is provided within the first few minutes after a patient's collapse. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can delay the damage to the heart after cardiac arrest, allowing for a slightly longer time for effective defibrillation. CPR alone, however, cannot restore the heart's normal electrical function. It is imperative to both perform CPR and defibrillate the heart within the first few minutes after a cardiac arrest to give the patient the best chance of survival.
